Ashley Walter, LMSW

Being a kid or teen today can be hard, and having a safe, supportive space can make a big difference. I work with children and teens ages 10–18 and supporting them through the ups and downs of growing up. I truly believe young people are incredibly resilient, and with the right support, they can learn to understand themselves, build confidence, and navigate life’s challenges in healthier ways. I enjoy working with youth who are experiencing ADHD, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or who are struggling with friendships, family dynamics, or big emotions that feel hard to manage.

In therapy, my focus is on helping kids and teens feel safe, seen, and understood. I take time to really get to know each client—not just their challenges, but who they are as a person. Together, we work on building self-worth, strengthening coping skills, improving relationships, and making sense of difficult experiences or past trauma at a pace that feels comfortable. Sessions are collaborative and engaging, and often include conversations along with visuals, activities, worksheets, videos, or creative tools to make therapy feel more approachable and less intimidating.

My background in social work has allowed me to work with children and families from many different backgrounds and life experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in child welfare and behavioral health, which helped me develop strong advocacy skills and a deep understanding of how systems like schools and families impact kids’ well-being. I care deeply about meeting kids and teens where they are and supporting them not just in therapy, but in their everyday lives too.
